Nitros defeat the Rockets - Face Rockies
Nitros shutdown and shut-out the Rockets
The Kimberley Dynamiters moved within one point of second place in the Eddie Mountain Division with a huge 3 - 0 victory over the Golden Rockets in Kimberley on Friday night.
Veteran Goaltender Tory Caldwell picked up the shut-out and victory for the Nitros who showed good poise in the win.
The first period was scoreless, then Dynamiter top scorer Matt Foster opended the scoring at the 1:24 mark of the second period with a pretty goal from newcomer Kieran Spice and Brennan Romanovitch. Then at 4:32 of the second Brennan Foreman converted on the powerplay from Corey Allen and Thierry Martime.
Brennan Romanovitch gave the Nitros a three goal advantage at the :16 mark of the third from Matt Foster and Kieran Spice, putting the game out of reach for the Rockets.
The Nitros pushed back a tenacious Rocket attack all night, an effort Head Coach Kevin MacKay has been looking for since the tough four game series the Nitros had with Fernie over the Holidays.
Tory Caldwell who made 27 saves in the victory was named the Kelsey's Bar and Grill first star of the night.

The Nitros will be back on the road Saturday night to face the Columbia Valley Rockies in Invermere in the second meeting this week. The Dynamiters defeated the Rockies 5 - 3 Wednesday night in Kimberley.
Game time at the Eddie Mountain Arena is 7:30 PM
