Thunder Cats Take Game 1
The Creston Valley Thunder Cats jumped out of the gate with a vengence on Friday and fought off the Nitros to secure a 5 - 3 victory in game one of the Eddie Mountain Division Semi-Finals.
At one point the Cats held a 4 - 0 lead on the Dynamiters, but the Bavarian City Bunch battled back to bring the score within one with less than two minutes to go in the third period.
Ryan Hewitt, Scott Swiston, Kane Dawe and Blake Kirkham gave the home squad a 4 goal advantge at the mid way point of the second period. Brennan Romanovitch broke Cats goaltender Sunny Gill's shut-out bid with a goal at the 14:43 mark of the second frame.
Former Thunder Cat Adam Taylor and Brennan Foreman brought the Nitros back with in one with goal late in the third period.
Colton Grolla sealed the Creston win with an empty net goal at the 19:40 mark of the third period.
Nitros Goaltender Tory Caldwell was named the third star, making a number of huge saves in the Kimberley goal.

Game two of the series will take place at the John Bucyk Arena in Creston on Saturday night - game time is 7:30 p.m.

Kimberley Pipe Band
The Kimberley Pipeband has had the prestigious honour of being invited to the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo which takes place in late June and early July of this year.
This is a once in a life time trip as it is the 100th Annivrsary of the Royal Canadian Navy.
The band to date is the largest it had ever been with 30 active members. The Pipeband is currently on a Fundraising drive to ensure all members who wish to go can. We are selling raffle tickets on a Arctic Cat Side by Side Quad which will be raffled on March 17th, 2010.
The Kimberley Dynamiters are giving us an opportunity to sell these tickets at the first playoff home game on Monday, February 22nd. The Pipeband will also be entertaining at the game.
Please help our band get to Halifax.
Look for the 60's Sock Hop to be held April 10, 2010 at the Centennial Hall

A reminder to all of you with "Open Tickets" for the 2009 - 2010 Kimberley Dynamiters KIJHL Regular Season home games WILL NOT be accepted for the 2009 - 2010 KIJHL Playoffs.
The Big Bang Progressive 50 / 50 DRAW
The draw was made in front of a pretty good Sunday evening crowd at the Kimberley Civic Centre. The winner of the draw was Brent Spice of Calgary.
Thank to everyone for supporting our draw. It was very exciting!
The Nitros give a big shout out to the Management and Staff of Mark Creek and Overwaitea for their support this season.
